Voyaging at the Museum

This week we went to the Museum and we had the most amazing time learning all about waka and voyaging!

Our first activity was a scavenger hunt around the museum displays.

In the star dome we watched a video of the Horouta waka coming to Tūranganui A Kiwa and we found the Horouta waka, Matariki, the hook and lots of other constellations in the stars.

Our last activity of the afternoon was making our own waka.

Class Novel

This term Miss Naden is reading "The Wild Robot" to us.

Today we read about a storm in the night.

We love getting the cushions and relaxing while she reads to us.

What books do you like to read?

Pentecost

On Sunday we celebrated the day when the Holy Spirit came down on us to guide us towards making good choices and help us to follow in the footsteps of Jesus. In class, we made these Holy Spirit spirals to show the Holy Spirit spiraling down into us. We used blue, green and purple, and red, orange, and yellow pastels to make them look like fire and blended it together using our fingers. They turned out great!

Bubble Art

Kia ora
We have come out of lockdown and created this beautiful collaborative bubble art. We painted using colours of how we were feeling during lockdown and then drew patterns using vivids that represented what we did. Check out our amazing work! It is an awesome addition to our prayer space of a challenging time where we came together as a nation.
